Session Description
This webinar will provide an overview of point of care ultrasound that can be easily learned by the surgeon to apply to their evaluation of the acutely ill patient to assist in early decision making that will do patient management.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the session, the participate should be able to:
1. Apply point of care ultrasound to your daily practice in the emergency department perioperative arena or your clinic/office
2. Obtain clinical information in an immediate fashion, learning hands-on skills that you can apply anytime of the day to expedite your decision making for patient care
3. How to continue the learning process with respect to point of care ultrasound including free online content/CME/personal tutoring that are available
4. Provide a basis for the busy practicing surgeon to quickly catch up to the new graduates with respect to an understanding of point of care ultrasound

Jeffrey M. Scott, D.O., FACEP, EDIC is part of the Critical Care Academic Faculty at the University of Miami and the Jackson Health System. Dr. Scott has written and passed the national board of echocardiography critical care examination and the transesophageal echo cardiography examination.
Dr. Scott educates the critical care fellows in multiple sub-specialty programs. Dr. Scott is an active AOBEM/AOBS member.
