Learning Objectives:
- demonstrated understanding of updated fluid resuscitation guidelines for trauma patients
- describe the two scoring/evaluation systems used for determining the necessity of cervical spine imaging
- describe the two scoring/evaluation systems used for determining the necessity of imaging for brain injuries in pediatric patients
- demonstrate the proper positioning for trauma patients who are beyond 24 weeks gestation
- demonstrate an understanding of the guidelines for reversal of anticoagulated, serious injured patients.

Dr. Danks is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and the Surgery Course Coordinator at AT Still University, Kirksville, MO. He is the general surgery residency director at Northeast Regional Medical Center, Kirksville, MO. Dr. Danks has a very active foregut surgery practice, performing 1-2 antireflux operations per week as well as other foregut operations such as Heller myotomies and laparoscopic repair of large, complex hiatal hernias. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves where he serves as the Chief of Surgical Services for the 811th Hospital Center.
