Nelayda Fonte, DO, FACOS, FICS

Nelayda Fonte, D.O., FACOS, FICS Fellowship trained in trauma and surgical critical care at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey following a surgical residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital. Dr. Fonte graduated from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ-SOM), now Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Fonte practiced full-time trauma and surgical critical care for 23 years as Assistant Director of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, Past President of Medical Staff, and elected to three terms as Chief of Surgery at Lee Memorial Hospital until January 2019.

Dr. Fonte has served as Chairperson for the In-Depth Review Committee since 2017 and co-chaired the first IDR Board Review Course in 2014. She has also co-chaired the Annual Clinical Assembly General Surgery Section in 2016 and is a Past Secretary/Treasurer of the General Surgery Section of the ACOS and currently serves on The Board of Governors for the ACOS. Interested in trauma prevention, education, and quality improvement, Dr. Fonte continues to provide Critical Care services, expanding into the world of Bariatrics and Robotics.

Annika Storey, DO, FACOS

Dr. Storey is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery at Jefferson University Sidney Kimmel Medical College Department of Surgery in Philadelphia, PA.

She is originally from Okemos, MI, and received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University Lyman Briggs School in 2005 with a BS in Physiology. She then received her graduate degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA.

Dr. Storey completed her internship at the University of Pittsburgh-Mercy Hospital in 2010, her general surgery residency from the Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, OH in 2014, and a two year fellowship in Acute Care Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN in 2016. She is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Critical Care.

She also serves as co-chair on the ACOS In-depth Review Committee and received an ACOS Presidential Citation at the 2019 Annual Clinical Assembly for her role on the Committee. She resides in the Philadelphia area with her husband, Chris Geiger.
