At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be better able to:
1. Describe the appropriate biochemical workup necessary for incidental adrenal masses.
2. Describe the CT scan characteristics of an adrenal adenoma.
3. Describe the operative indications for an incidental adrenal mass.
4. Recognize the biochemical findings seen in pheochromocytoma, aldosterone secreting adrenal adenoma, and cortisol secreting adrenal adenoma.
5. Recognize when to suspect adrenocortical carcinoma based on imaging and biochemical workup.

T.K. Pandian, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He obtained his medical degree at Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN and his Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, MD. He completed General Surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery at the Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Combined Endocrine Surgery Program in Boston, MA.
At Washington University School of Medicine, Dr. Pandian is the Rotation Director for the 3rd Year Medical Student Surgery Clerkship and the Faculty Lead for the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Work Group for the Section of Surgical Oncology. He also has several active roles in the Medical School including development of the Surgery Clerkship for the new WUSM Gateway Curriculum.
Dr. Pandian is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, International Association of Endocrine Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, and the Central Surgical Association. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He lives in St. Louis with his wife and enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, snorkeling/diving, and scale modeling in his free time.
